Public meetings were held in all three states to give members of the public and other stakeholders an opportunity to comment on the priorities outlined in the West Coast Governors’ Agreement on Ocean Health, and a discussion paper which provides additional background information and illustrative examples of possible actions the three states may take under the Agreement. In support of the West Coast Governors’ Agreement on Ocean Health Action Plan and the legislative mandates of the Harmful Algal Bloom and Hypoxia Research and Control Act (HABHRCA) NOAA's Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research (CSCOR) is partnering with west coast states to develop and convene the West Coast Regional Harmful Algal Bloom Summit. This workshop will build upon more than 10 years of CSCOR support for HAB research and management on the West Coast as well as CSCOR’s experience convening research and management-related HAB meetings and workshops nationwide. | West Coast Governors' Ocean Action Teams Meeting | ||

Alternative Energy Workshop participants heard from ocean energy experts about the potential for wind, wave and tidal energy along the Pacific Coast and Puget Sound as well as experts in the emerging technologies being developed to capture that energy.
